Wk02 Rock, Paper, Scissors Concept Phase

These are my thumbnail sketches for the Rock, Paper, Scissors poster. I really like numbers 4, 8, as well as 5. I am leaning towards the ones where I put the header in the center of the poster. I thought that this would be a good idea due to the fact that if its centered like that it has the potential to draw people closer to the poster therefore allowing them to read the intro and the rules. I feel that the ones with the headers on top are too traditional and will look like any other poster.

This is a grouping or artwork that I planned on using for the poster guide. I really like the hand drawn traditional style. I chose the one that visualizes the rules of rock, paper, scissors if there are still people out there who don't get it after the rules are written. The other sketched drawing I wanted to throw into the poster guide to bring humor and a sort of light heartedness to the game of rock, paper, scissors was well as it might draw attention from some people with its cartoonish style. The other picture of the colored hands I liked the design of it and may just use it as a border around the edges or just something to add a little bit of color to catch the eye.

  1. I like the thumbnail sketches you drew especially sketch number 7, its very different and original. I also like the photos you found, they aren't that original either which is what i personally like.

  2. I would agree that your 8th template was the better one, i actually really like the 7th one too, it could end up looking really cool with the borders.

I also really like the 2nd picture (smallest one), the 3 colors really stand out and if you set up the post with the same colors it could look really cool.

  3. Research was unique. I would stay away from design 7 though it was pretty "loud" as a background.

  4. I like the idea of having the header in the middle and it seems like you were leaning towards that as well. Stick with that idea as it has cool creative options

  5. I like the curve of the header in some of the templates, as it gives the page a bit more motion.

  6. The pencil drawn hands I feel is the best image you have here. I like how it shows all the forms of victory and defeat along with the basic hand gestures for the game.

  7. Numbers 8 and 4 look cool with the header in the middle, but if you end up using either of them, I think you should include more than two pictures because RPS is a very visual game and having a third picture will go a long way in helping someone learn how to play.
